Newlyn Cornwall

Self-catering Accommodation

Newlyn has a large harbour which is home to one of the largest fishing fleets in the United Kingdom. Medieval harbour walls still survive. Not far from the harbour you will find quaint narrow streets lined with granite fisherman's cottages.

Newlyn Christmas lights are switched on annually as part of the local Christmas celebrations and the Newlyn Fish Festival is held on August Bank Holiday Monday each year.

The Newlyn School was a group of painters lead by Stanhope Forbes and Walter Langley, now highly collected. Newlyn Art Gallery was built in 1895 to display their works but this can now be seen at Penlee House Museum in Penzance, whilst Newlyn Art Gallery exhibits contemporary art.
