Porthleven is a lovely village with an historic and picturesque fishing harbour overlooking Mounts Bay. There are shops, cafes and pubs surrounding the harbour. Located near to the market town of Helston, Porthleven is an ideal place from which to explore South West Cornwall.
Porthleven beach is unspoilt making Porthleven ideal for a relaxing family holiday. The beach is separated from Porthleven harbour and all its facilities by a magnificent granite pier which was constructed two hundred years ago. The South West Coast Path runs through Porthleven.
Nearby is the National Trust Penrose estate with the tranquil waters of Loe Pool, the largest fresh-water lake in Cornwall. Loe Bar has been declared an area of special scientific interest because of its unique construction and rare plants.
A short drive away are the National Seal Sanctuary, Flambards Experience, and golf courses.
