Praa Sands Cornwall

Self-catering Accommodation

Praa Sands has a beautiful, mile-long, sandy beach which is popular with both families and surfers and is well-used throughout the year. There is a pub and a fish and chip shop almost on the beach and a Post Office and general stores close by.

Pengersick Castle dates back several centuries and is to be found a quarter of a mile from the modern centre of the village.

Engine house ruins can be seen along the coastline and provide evidence of long ceased mining for tin and copper. The China Clay industry began close to Praa Sands when kaolin was discovered on the slopes of nearby Tregonning Hill.

Praa Sands is within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a Regionally Important Geological Site.
